Our door is always open and we are here to help your stay at Cumberland to be productive, safe and fun.

At Cumberland our high staff-to-student ratio ensures that you are welcomed and assisted throughout your period of residency. We are staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week to provide for your safety and to give advice and service wherever we can.

Residential Assistants make up an important part of the team at Cumberland. Residential Assistants are staff who have experience of residential life and/or University. These are the people you go to for help to find your feet in Cumberland, Varsity and Dunedin when you first arrive; the people to have coffee with if there's something bothering you and need a sympathetic ear. If they don't have an answer immediately, they will at least be able to point you in the right direction. There is an RA on every section of each corridor, and all have current 1st Aid and Fire Warden certification. Your RA will organise corridor events and outings. These staff members organise College events and provide the front desk contact in the evenings for residents and visitors. Visit the Residential Assistant Page page!
