Cumberland College History

Cumberland College has been a University of Otago Residential College since 1989. In 2009 Cumberland will celebrate it's 20th Jubilee and the fact that nearly 7000 people have called 'Cumbie' home. The Cumberland building was built in 1916 adn was once the Dunedin Hospital Nurses Home. For more information about Cumbie's history keep an eye out for our history page - coming soon!
